- A non-toxic antimicrobial
- Not an antibiotic or oxidizing agent
- Virtually 100% effective in killing planktonic pathogens on contact—bacteria, fungi, viruses, spores, yeasts
- Penetrates the biofilm mass, kills the inhabitants, and separates it from the surface to which it is attached
- Has an analgesic effect with sustained contact
- Does not negatively impact normal flora and essential synergistic bacteria
- Has been clinically-proven nontoxic to humans, animals, and the environment.
- Is non-corrosive
- Is colorless, tasteless, and odorless
- Is effective at ambient temperatures and conditions
PAC5 AND BIOFILMS
- PAC5, it is believed, interferes with microbial cell-to-cell communication, called Quorum Sensing or Cross Talk, within a biofilm community.
- PAC5 interference quickly results in the death of the microbial inhabitants of that community.
- PAC5 continues to disrupt, degrade, and fragment the biofilm polymer matrix itself, detaching it from surfaces.
